Snapshots of the work.

Every job has a story, here are a few.

  • Dylan welding on stands at the curb, with the welder generator mounted in his truck bed

    Mobile trailer repair

Curbside repair, I can come to you!

Thanks to my welder generator, I can bring the shop wherever the work is.

There are a lot of reasons to call a mobile welder. Sometimes the project can't be moved, or it's just more convenient to have me come to you. Whatever the reason, I'm ready to deliver professional services anywhere you need me.

  • Dylan welding a heavy steel plate pallet on site at a masonry yard

    Structural-level fabrication

Heavy-duty pallets for a local masonry

Serious steel project built on site.

When a local masonry was in need of custom pallets stronger than anything they could purchase elsewhere, they reached out to me to make it for them. I went to work on site and turned flat plate into a pallet that's been used every day since.

  • Custom steel columns with side-mounted plates supporting an LVL beam for a storage shelf

    Client-specific structural steel

No two jobs are the same!

Four custom steel columns carrying an LVL beam.

This client wanted to make a heavy-duty storage shelf in a limited space. That meant building four custom columns, each with their own constraints. Namely, side-mounted base plates so the client could land their columns directly under the LVL beam. The end result was consistent and strong!

  • Rated D-ring tie-down welded into the steel bed of a dump trailer

    Installed-to-order tie-downs

    12,000 lb tie-down

Is there such a thing as overkill?

Client brought his dump trailer and explained what he needed. So I installed 4 overbuilt tie-downs in the bed of the trailer to tie down his tractor, and two on the bumper of the trailer so he could use it to pull stumps without disconnecting his truck.

  • Engineering drawing of a heavy steel pallet with dimensions, plate thicknesses and calculated weight

Get project drawings before work begins

Heavy steel pallet, drawn before it was built

Remember that job for the masonry?

When the client wants something custom, it's important to make sure they and I are on the same page. In order to make that happen for this particular client, I first toured their yard. We found real-world measurements and talked the design over in person. I took my notes to the office and drew up the specifics to make sure when I got started that I was building what they wanted.

  • Dylan standing beside the finished steel coat rack with its three-legged base

Can't find what you're looking for?

    One-of-one coat rack

A simple idea from the customer, engineered into a coat rack for their home.

The client had looked all over for a coat rack to suit their needs and couldn't find it anywhere! Sometimes it just doesn't exist online and isn't sold in stores. That's where I came in. The client told me how many coats they wanted to hang and that they wanted it to be very sturdy. They left the design up to me and they loved it!

  • Custom black steel frame holding an electric hoist above a generator on a storage shelf

    1. Design 2. Build 3. Paint 4. Install

There's a crane in your house?!

    Another one-of-a-kind success.

The same client that had me build columns for their one-of-a-kind storage shelf asked me to build them a ladder (not pictured) and this custom hoist to help with their storage needs. Now they can easily get their heavy generator and other items up onto their shelf.

  • Holder bent from solid bar for an arc gouger, in front of a welded arc gouging table

    Custom fabrication

    Problem solver

    Purpose-built table got a purpose-built tool holder.

Back in trade school, I built a new arc gouging table for the school. When I couldn't think of a simple way to make a handle for the arc gouger, I made one up! Using a vise and a torch, I bent solid bar into a holder perfect for its application.

  • Custom-built steel replacement part for a lathe

    No job too small

    Replacement part

    Small part, same standard.

This client needed a replacement part for their lathe. I built a replacement and threw together a second one for a spare! Have a project in mind but don't know if I can help? It never hurts to ask!
